It operates a two-hospital system, consisting of Sarah Bush Lincoln based in Mattoon, IL which has 150 beds, and SBL Fayette County Hospital based in Vandalia, IL, with 25 beds. In 2022, SBL purchased Fayette County Hospital and is working toward fully integrating the two organizations. The healthcare system also operates more than 57 clinics spread across a 10-county area and a stand-alone surgery center, regional cancer center and hospice house. Decisions are made locally which gives the Health System the agility to respond quickly to changing markets.
The organization employs nearly 3,000 people, including a medical staff of approximately 230 members. SBL is known for its contemporary facilities and commitment to providing advanced equipment and services for diagnosis and treatment. Sarah Bush Lincoln has an expanding robotics program, which showcases its dedication to adopting innovative technologies.
